The Brooklyn Chest Hospital is the only facility treating XDR TB patients in the Western Cape. It’s a 345 bed hospital and consists of 56 paediatric beds which are usually filled to capacity with over 60% of these patients being HIV positive. Children treated there can stay there from 6 months to 2 years and are not able to attend normal school. We believe that every child should have access to good quality basic education. To solve this crisis we’ll be renovating an existing structure at the facility, the total budget for the project is R 1 000 000 which consists of: Renovations R 625 000 + Equipment R 375 000. Naming rights to the school will be given to the company that donates R 1 000 000 or more.
