SAME Foundation hosted Mandela Day activities for 21 companies over three days this year.
The companies – all loyal SAME Foundation donors who have invested in our projects – shut their doors to get actively involved in the work we do, a true reflection of their dedication to making a positive change in their communities.
On Thursday 16 July the South African Breweries started work on the Ante Natal Unit at Leratong Hospital, and at the same time, Aard Mining Equipment was in the ward downstairs kicking-off the renovations to the Orthapaedic Paediatric Unit.
On Friday 17 July over 180 people from 18 companies joined us at Tirisano-Mmogo Primary School in Cosmo City to get involved in the project. We made a big difference to the school, and the children were pleasantly surprised when they returned to school on Monday.
Thank you to the following donors for spending their entire Friday working at the school:
- British Telecoms
- NBC
- SMEC South Africa
- Norcross SA
- AC/DC
- Emerald Risk
- AE COM

On Saturday 18 July, the staff at Adcock Ingram gave up their weekend to work in the Paediatric Unit at Leratong Hospital. They made an incredible difference, allowing the project to move onto the next phase a lot sooner than planned.
We want to thank all our donors for giving their time to make a real change this Mandela Day. We look forward to building stronger partnerships that benefit thousands of South Africans.
If you would like to donate towards any of our projects, please email Tyrone at education(at)samefoundation.org.za and we will get back to you.
