On the 18th of July 2024, the SAME Foundation, along with six dedicated companies, embarked on a heartwarming painting initiative at Merrydale Primary School in Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain, Western Cape. Our goal was to brighten the learning environment for the students by painting eight classrooms.

The event began with 67 minutes of enthusiastic painting, during which volunteers from various companies came together to make a positive impact. The sight of fresh, vibrant walls was just the beginning of the day’s joy.

After completing the painting, we were treated to a beautiful performance by the talented learners of the school, showcasing their enthusiastic spirit.

Following the performance, everyone enjoyed a delicious spit braai lunch, fostering camaraderie and friendship among the participants. The day concluded with an awards ceremony, where each company member, including the construction team and SAME Foundation staff, received a medal in recognition of their hard work and dedication.

It was a joyous day filled with community spirit and a shared commitment to making a difference. We extend our heartfelt thanks to every company and individual who joined us, and we look forward to welcoming even more participants next year. Together, we can continue to create positive change in our community.
