Heideveld Community Health Centre (Completed, 2012-2013)

Heideveld CHC started its ARV Services in 2010, after G.F. Jooste decanted all its ARV patients to the site. This facility, even though it experienced many challenges, still managed to enroll more than three hundred new patients in care over this twelve month period. This facility faced consultation space constraints. In addition to the extra consultation rooms that need to be added, it was vitally important that the entire unit got upgraded to handle the TB patients who are being counselled and treated there and to help stop the cross-infection of TB between patients as well as staff. They were also using an old building that was in desperate need of upgrading for the services rendered.

In 2013, the Foundation built and fully equipped an 8 roomed Infectious Diseases Unit. In addition to this, the new unit had a ventilation system installed in all the rooms and TB filter lights to stop any chance of cross infection. With an annual increase of 300 – 400 patients, it was critical that the Foundation completed this project in the shortest possible time and thanks to our amazing donors we did.
