Hector Petersen is our last Western Cape education project for 2019. This school is out in Kraaifontein which is a mostly Xhosa speaking community of around 28,000 people. Due to the fact that seventy percent of residents are unemployed, most live in shacks. The Secondary School teaches around 1540 students, and tries to offer the best quality teaching they can. The school intensifies the use of its classroom and resources to meet the increasing needs.
Our organisation is completing a fully renovated and equipped science laboratory at Hector Petersen, filled with a new interactive board, projector, customized seating and desks, and a storage space for the new science equipment. This project has been fully funded, and is in the renovation stage.
