The SAME Foundation is proud to announce the completion of a fully equipped science laboratory at Isiphiwo Primary School in Harare, Khayelitsha. This upgrade forms part of our mission to improve education facilities in under-resourced communities, giving learners access to quality, practical science education.
Isiphiwo Primary School Synopsis
Isiphiwo Primary serves 1,481 learners, many from low-income households in an area with high unemployment and limited resources. The new laboratory provides a safe, modern space for hands-on learning and supports the school’s growing focus on Science, Maths, and Technology.
Project Highlights
A fully furnished science lab accommodating 40 learners.
Curriculum-aligned equipment and resources.
Teacher training to ensure long-term, effective use of the facility.
Impact
This project improves science pass rates, boosts learner confidence, reduces dropout risk, and empowers educators. It directly benefits all learners, including 75 children with disabilities, by creating an environment that supports quality STEM education.
Through this project, donors helped provide opportunities that these learners would not otherwise have had—making a meaningful and lasting difference in the community.
