Blair Atholl Primary School (Completed, 2017, 2022)

Blair Atholl Primary School, located in the Lanseria area, is a non-fee-paying school that relies heavily on donations to serve learners from underprivileged farming and rural communities. Many children in Grades 1–7 come from households where parents are unemployed or employed in manual labour, and the school depends on external support to provide a safe, welcoming place to learn.

The SAME Foundation first partnered with Blair Atholl in 2017, supporting urgently needed infrastructure improvements including a new classroom, stormwater drainage repairs and improved paving to enhance safety and access on the school grounds. In 2022 we returned to continue this work, renovating and restoring the school’s classrooms to create brighter, safer and more comfortable learning spaces.

These interventions were designed to improve the day-to-day experience for both learners and teachers — reducing safety risks, improving the learning environment, and helping the school better support its community. We remain grateful to the donors and partners whose support made these upgrades possible, and we continue to work with the school to identify ongoing needs and opportunities for further impact.
