Forte Secondary School is situated in Dobsonville, Soweto. It is classified as no-fee paying school, meaning it serves an extremely poor community. The school is a pillar of its community, and is consistently one of the best performing schools in Gauteng. As often experienced in poor communities, a lack of parental support, overcrowding, poor facilities, and uninspired learners are daily challenges.
The school has cited limited infrastructure and resources as their main challenge to providing this quality education, with STEM facilities and resources being central to increasing capacity for educators to teach better, more learners to do the subjects, and for learners to achieve better results.
