On Wednesday 2 December, the SAME Foundation and Barloworld Equipment handed over two ventilators to the recently renovated resuscitation unit at Kalafong Hospital. The life-saving machines, worth over R800 000, were fully funded through SAME’s partnership with Barloworld Equipment. The Leratong Hospital Labour ward has over 8200 births annually of which 1552 babies landed up in Neonatal. 9% of these babies died. The SAME foundation took to renovating the unit and equipped it with top modern technology.
